Hatching Quail chicks is always exciting. They are often called “bumble-bees” because they are so small (around 13 grams) at birth and zip around so fast. We do not recommend helping hatching chicks break free of their shell. We generally let nature run its course.
Here is our 4th setting of our “Splits”, Brown/White, for those keeping track…Tatanka/Moby bloodlines.
We like to set eggs based on the moon cycle and time our hatches around the new moon.
If we set our eggs by the Full Moon they tend to hatch just 3 days after the new moon.
